Procurement Manager
Description

Develop a robust Procurement Department that ensures material availability to meet production requirements. Manage team to develop and create a system that identifies ideal suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability. Actively negotiate with suppliers to ensure these areas are consistently being met. Ensure and maintain proper inventory levels to meet production demand while managing obsolete or slow-moving inventory. Oversee and manage the day to day activities of the buying team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop ordering cycles based on forecasts that meet production needs, financial goals and adheres to vendor lead times
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Oversee procurement team to ensure the ordering of necessary goods meet operational needs
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Control spend and inventory level, build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Schedule and maintain key supplier meetings at a minimum of annual to review and audit
  • Advise appropriately Managers, Supervisors and clerical staff on procurement and inventory best practices
Qualifications

Proven work experience in working within an ERP (preferably Great Plains, Dynamics)

Proven working experience as a procurement manager

Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques

Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers

Experience in collecting and analyzing data

Strong leadership capabilities

BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration is a plus
