Saranac Thursday Band Kits

The F.X. Matt Brewing Company is accepting music press kits from area bands wishing to perform at Saranac Thursdays this year.  The event, in it’s 11th year, will run every Thursday evening from 5-8PM from May 28, 2009 to September 3, 2009 at the F.X. Matt Brewing Company Tour Center Courtyard at Court and Varick Streets.  

The brewery will be accepting music demos until March 15, 2009 and is limiting each group to one performance date.  This will give new groups an opportunity to submit their work and enhance the music schedule.  “Every year we have more and more groups wanting to perform on our concert stage,” said Fred Matt, President of Matt Brewing Company.  “It is a great venue for local talent to perform in front of crowds of 1500-2000 people.”

Saranac Thursdays take place in the brewery’s outdoor beer garden and offers a variety of Saranac beers, Saranac soft drinks and Utica Club. Area businesses “adopt” an evening to pour beer and listen to the area’s musical talent. A portion of the proceeds from Saranac Thursdays benefit the United Way of the Greater Utica Area.  In the past ten years, the F.X. Matt Brewing Company’s Saranac Thursdays have raised over $200,000 directly for the United Way.
