Saranac Beer Rated Superb in Every Aspect!

The F.X. Matt Brewing company, makers of Saranac Beer, has received two esteemed ratings this past month.  Modern Brewery Age and The Brewers Association, industry fundamentals, have ranked the brewery among the best.

The leading magazine of the beer business, Modern Brewery Age, holds a tasting panel comprised of industry professionals for each bimonthly publication.  Two new beers in Saranac 12 Beers of Summer™ received a rating of “5 Beer Mugs”, classified as a beer superb in every respect.  “Saranac Helles and Saranac Rye Pilsener are possibly the best two beers we have ever had from Saranac,” said Pete Reid, editor of Modern Brewery Age.

“Every summer our goal is to brew a 12 pack of lighter beers that still remain distinctive,” says Fred Matt.  “It is extremely rewarding to have two new beers receive recognition by who we think are some of our toughest critics, who wish they had tasted all 6 to give the whole 12 pack the best rating.  Saranac 12 Beers of Summer has proven to be a top quality 12 pack full of acclaimed beers.”

The complete lineup in Saranac 12 Beers of Summer features four brand new flavors: Saranac Pale Pale Ale, Saranac Helles, Saranac Amber Wheat, and Saranac Rye Pilsener and two returning favorites, Saranac Pomegranate Wheat and Saranac Summer Ale.  Brewed in limited quantities, Saranac 12 Beers of Summer™ is available in stores now.

Along with Modern Brewery Age, The Brewers Association gave the F.X. Matt Brewing Company top ratings.  Each year, the Brewers Association, which represents the majority of brewing companies in the U.S., announces their annual list of top 50 brewing companies.  Released are lists for both Top 50 Craft Brewing Companies of small and independent craft brewers plus a Top 50 Overall Brewing Companies list. Rankings are based on sales volume in 2008.  This year the F.X. Matt Brewing Company was named the 7th largest craft brewer in the country, and the 15th largest brewer overall.
