New Packaging

Saranac to Debut New, Fresh Look

Be ready to be transported to open skies, breathtaking scenes, and the Adirondacks when you pick up your next package of Saranac.  The F.X. Matt Brewery announces a packaging change to their award winning Family of Beers.

Saranac packaging stems back to the original Saranac, Saranac 1888, in 1985.  This beer, now known as Saranac Adirondack Lager, was the first and only Saranac available.  After winning a distinguished award at the Great American Beer Festival, the Saranac line began to grow.  With the success of Saranac we added a number of flavors, but the overall design has not changed significantly, except for slight modifications to make the packages more streamlined and modern.  The shape of the watercolors has stayed the same through all previous changes.

The new watercolors will change from oval to a square covering almost the entire label bringing more emphasis to the scenery.  “This is the first big change ever made to the Saranac design.  Our new packaging has a more open feel to it, with our traditional watercolors stretched to cover most of the surface,” says Fred Matt.  “By opening up the images, we think they create a more relaxed, airy feel, just like the Adirondacks themselves.”

Shipping this week, the Saranac Pale Ale 12 Pack, will be the first package to undergo the change.  The entire Saranac portfolio will be completed by mid March.
