Ready to get down...with moe. and Saranac?
Get ready for a weekend with plenty of your favorite music and beer. Drink With Us this weekend at the 11th annual moe.down at Gelston Castle Estate in Mohawk, NY. We'll be serving up three great Saranac favorites: one of our most-requested seasonals, Saranac Octoberfest, and two of our favorite brews from our core line-up, Saranac Adirondack Lager and Saranac Pale Ale. We're happy to support our friends Vinny, Rob, Chuck, Jim and Al as the official beer sponsor of this wildly popular festival.
Join the guys for three whole days of nationally known and up-and-coming bands from all different genres. Don't forget to bring some school supplies to donate to a school district in the Mohawk Area. The following supplies are being requested: bookbags, crayons, #2 pencils, colored pocket folders, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, spiral notebooks, notebook filler paper and scissors. Drop-off bins will be located in the Kids' Tent.
Don't have tickets yet? Visit the official moe.down site for more info. We hope to see you there!
Root beer here! Get your root beer!
This week kicks off the 2010 New York State Fair held in Syracuse, NY. Every summer thousands of people visit the fairgrounds each day to enjoy awesome food, entertainment, rides and more. This year, we decided to join the fun and offer $1 soft drinks at our Saranac booth located in the Horticultural Building! Also located in this building are $1 baked potatoes. Grab one and wash it down with a $1 Saranac Root Beer, Diet Root Beer, Orange Cream or Shirley Temple. Our Brewery Shop will be selling lots of Utica Club and Saranac merchandise and sampling beer from 3-4PM and 6-7PM every day! Find more Saranac and support your local Brewery while visiting other vendors at the fair. We hope you'll stop by and Drink With Us. If you haven't tried our root beer yet, here's what the Soda Jerks had to say about it (Thanks, Soda Jerks for the kind words and the very entertaining review. Cheers!)
Sausage anyone?
Save the date for "The Session: Oktoberfest (It's a Sausage Party)"
On Friday, September 10, 2010, we'll be hosting the second "Session" event. For those of you who attended “The Session: A Saranac Beer and Food Pairing Experience” back in May, you know our "Session" events are a little different from most events at the Brewery: we focus on craft beers and the perfect food to pair with each. Join us this September for "The Session: Oktoberfest (It's a Sausage Party)" to celebrate locally brewed craft beer (featuring our fall seasonals, Pumpkin Ale and Octoberfest), and lots of authentic German sausage. There is no better combination. Get your tickets at the Brewery Shop or on online now. Check our events page often and "Like" us on Facebook to be among the first to know what Brewery events are going on.
Two more weeks of great Saranac music!

After two great events, our Summer Concert Series continues: Night Ranger will be here Friday, August 13, 2010, and we’ll host STS9 on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Don't miss these phenomenal shows on the Saranac Summer Concert Series Stage. Check their links below to listen to some of their music and warm up for the shows (try it with a Saranac in hand to get the full effect). Then get your tickets online or at The Brewery Shop, and get ready to Drink With Us (and hundreds of our friends).
We’ll see you there. Cheers!

Come "Raise the Dead"
Popular Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra is back for another year.
With an awesome light display and Grateful Dead-inspired tunes, DSO is always one of our favorite shows. What Grateful Dead set will they recreate this year? Or will it be an original? Buy some tickets and join us to find out. We'll have your favorite Saranac Beers on tap, and Saranac Soft Drinks will also be available. Hope to see you tomorrow night. Cheers!
Only Running For The Saranac
Whatever your reason is for running, spectating or volunteering, we like to think it's for the beer! Since its inception in 1978, we've been proud to sponsor the Boilermaker Road Race, the best 15K in the country. We believe community is one of the most important entities in owning a business. Supporting those around us is something we strive to do every day at the Brewery. The Boilermaker is an amazing display of how a community can come together to put on an event so special to everyone involved. We invite you to join us on race day; there is a place for everyone! Run and have fun, grab a spot on the course and start cheering, or lend a hand and volunteer. Most importantly, don't forget to enjoy a Saranac along the way. We'll be serving over 250 ice cold kegs of Pomegranate Wheat at the finish line on race day, July 11, 2010. Cheers to 32 years and the best 9.3 mile beer run around!
Do you want to be Mayor of Saranac Thursdays?
Effective immediately, we're searching for the Mayor of Saranac Thursdays. Want the job? Sign up for Foursquare and download the app for your phone. Check-in each time you come to Saranac Thursdays. If you check in more than anyone else, you'll become the Mayor - which comes with its own set of perks for that week.
We will determine who the Mayor is by who holds the title each Thursday at noon. We'll announce the winner online via Twitter and Facebook. It's the winner's responsibility to let the folks at the gate know that you have arrived by showing your Foursquare profile.
The Mayor will receive free admission to Saranac Thursdays for that week (as well as get to wear the Mayor's sash and be acknowledged at the event). Mayorships can change from week to week so each check-in counts! The Official check-in spot is Saranac Thursdays.
So what is Foursquare? It's a great app for your smartphone that uses your location to show your friends where you are and helps you discover cool places around town. Even after the festivities at the Brewery, you can use the app to check-in at your favorite places and connect with friends to let them know where you're sharing a Saranac. More info can be found on the Foursquare website. Good luck!
Drumroll Please...
Here it is, what you've all been waiting for. Summer is near, and we've got the beer (and some pretty awesome music too!) Don't forget, the first Saranac Thursday is May 27th. Only 27 days away!
