Fan of Saranac runs for beer!
Are you familiar with the 9.3 mile beer run? It's called the Boilermaker Road Race and we host the famous post race party every year on the second Sunday in July! 40,000 of our closest friends including runners, volunteers and spectators join us for a weekend of community events that lead
up to what has been dubbed one of the best post race parties in the world. Check out this fun blog written by a fan of running, the Boilermaker, and the Brewery too!
"Billed as the world's largest 15K. the Boilermaker was the first race I ran with "Elites." When I say "with" I obviously don't mean side-by-side, but the race is significant enough, in distance and in crowd draw, that runners from all over the world compete. And when they are done competing, they drink."

A Sip of History

Coleman's is a bar located in Syracuse, NY at the top of Tipperary Hill. This area, known for its Irish flare (just check out the traffic light reversed to resemble the Irish Flag), hosts Green Beer Sunday every year to kick off St. Patrick's Day celebrations. The festivities include a parade where they deliver green beer in a tanker in front of the pub. While digging through some historical artifacts, we found the picture posted here. The photo is F.X. Matt II (Fred's father and Nick's brother) with Peter Coleman, owner of Coleman's Irish Pub, in our aging cellar next to the tank of green beer we exclusively brewed for them in 1989. Although the green beer they serve now is not ours, we actually made Coleman's green beer right here in the Brewery at that time. How cool is that? Today, you can enjoy Saranac Irish Red there on tap. We thought you would enjoy this story about a tradition known near and far. Slainte!
Making a difference this Earth Month

We consider it a privilege to contribute to every community we serve, and we work all year round to follow Green practices at our Brewery. We created Saranac Cares as a way to organize the two into community-building efforts, and this year we’d love your help.
To celebrate Earth Month in April, we’re asking you, our fans, to help us out and show our communities how much we care.
Our Green cause this year: gathering Saranac lovers and other community members together to clean up select areas of our cities. We all give a little of our time to the Earth, and then share some Saranac as a nice reward. What could be better?
We’ll have the Saranac cold and ready, and all we need is you.
We’re excited, and we hope you are too. Let us know if you’re interested by taking a minute to answer our brief survey. If you're in, we'll contact you with the details! Click here and find out how you can be a part.
