Brewery Recognized for its Craft Brewing Heritage
Charlie Papazian,
well known and acclaimed Craft Beer Enthusiast, has declared The F.X.
Matt Brewery "a heritage brewery reinventing itself". According to
Charlie, there are only 12 breweries in the U.S. that have survived the
ups and downs of the ever changing and sometimes turbulent industry for
100 plus years. There are only 4 of these breweries who are still
family owned and operated. Our seemingly small but exceedingly large
Brewery, both in size and in contribution to craft breweries and
brewers everywhere, happens to be one of those four. This is a must

of our Company's rich history and the significance of our presence in
New York State. 
In a day where is important to support local products,
this article certainly displays why. Charlie
says "Utica, New York may seem a bit out of the way for east coast beer

A Boilermaker Recap with Fred Matt
We had a chance to chat with Fred Matt about the Brewery's role in helping to throw the huge post-race party for the Boilermaker which is the nation's largest 15K road race held right here in Utica. It's a massive undertaking that requires an enormous amount of planning and volunteers to make sure that each of the over 10,000 runners can enjoy a cold Saranac.
